Alan Faneca has made nine-consecutive All-Pro teams, but if plans on making it a tenth season, it won't be for the Jets.

After selecting offensive lineman Vladimir Ducasse with the 61st overall pick in the NFL Draft, the Jets abruptly released Faneca, helping the team financially in order to sign Ducasse. Faneca was due $7.5 million this season.

Faneca, 33, has been criticized due to his age, however, his production has not slipped, the Jets had the league's most potent rushing attack last season largely due to Faneca clearing the way for running backs Thomas Jones, Leon Washington and Shonn Greene.

Faneca, however, isn't expected to remain a free agent for long. Many teams were interested in trading for the former first-round pick, but were not willing to take the financial hit with his salary.
