Darren Sharper has decided to stay in New Orleans after testing the free agent market. The 34-year-old free safety wants to win another Super Bowl and feels that New Orleans presents the best opportunity for him.

The Saints and Sharper agreed to a one-year deal, however, financial terms have not been released.

Sharper was the nucleus of the Saints defense last season, leading the NFL with nine interceptions and three defensive touchdowns. Sharper notched six tackles in last seasons Super Bowl win against the Indianapolis Colts.

Sharper was drafted in the second-round of the 1997 NFL draft out of William & Mary by the Green Bay Packers. Sharper has also played for Minnesota during his career and drew interest from several teams including Jacksonville, who he visited earlier this week. Sharper had been named to five All-Pro teams in his 14-year career.
