The Philadelphia 76ers have decided that in order to be successful, they need to bring in one of their own.

Today, Philadelphia is expected to announce that they have agreed to a four-year deal with current TV analyst Doug Collins. The team used the first-overall pick in the 1973 draft on Collins.

Philadelphia is entering it's most important offseason since 1996, when the team selected Allen Iverson with the first-overall pick. Philadelphia will select second overall in June.

Collins, who's career was cut short due to injuries, has also coached in Chicago, Detroit and Washington, going 332-287 and making the playoffs five times in eight seasons. The 58-year-old has coached Michael Jordan in both Chicago and Washington.

The 76ers took a turn for the worse last season, going 27-55 in head coach Eddie Jordan's lone season. Collins will become the third coach in Philadelphia since the 2007-2008 season.
