The New England Patriots have agreed to terms with veteran tight end Algre Crumpler. Crumpler will enter 2010 playing for a third different team in the last four seasons. Financial terms were not immediately disclosed.

Crumpler, who went to four Pro Bowls as an Atlanta Falcon (2003-2006) before signing with Tennessee in 2008, will upgrade a Patriots rushing offense which was ranked 12th in the league last season. Crumpler, who started 19 games in two seasons in Tennessee, helped lead the way for running back Chris Johnson as he ran for 2,006 yards last season.

New England lost starting tight end Ben Watson to Cleveland in free agency last week. Crumpler was drafted in the second round of the 2001 NFL draft and has caught 36 touchdowns in 340 receptions.
